About Andy

Hi, I’m Andy Pedersen, a Financial Adviser with Dux Financial Services based on the Kapiti Coast.

I help families and business owners put plans in place so that if life takes an unexpected turn, financially they’re in a better position to cope. An accident, illness, disability or death can have a major impact on a family’s future. My role is to help clients prepare before those events happen, not after.

My story

In March 2020, my wife Lorraine and I left Cape Town, South Africa, and moved to New Zealand with our two children, Leah and Ayden, in search of a safer and more stable future.

Before immigrating, I owned and operated several businesses in South Africa. Since arriving in New Zealand, I’ve held leadership roles as Regional Manager for a fire protection company across the lower North Island and later as Branch Manager for a public transport operator on the Kapiti Coast.

Across every role, one theme has stayed the same: solving problems, managing risk, and helping people make informed decisions before issues become expensive or stressful.

That’s the same approach I bring to financial advice.

What I do

I assist clients with:

·         Life insurance

·         Income protection insurance

·         Trauma and disability cover

·         Health insurance

·         Fire and general insurance

·         Personal and business risk planning

Where appropriate, I also work alongside trusted colleagues at Dux Financial Services to help clients with mortgage lending, investment advice and broader financial planning.

My approach is straightforward and pressure free. I’ll give you an honest assessment of your current position, explain any gaps, and help you decide what makes sense for your circumstances. If your existing arrangements are already suitable, I’ll tell you that too.

I believe long term relationships are built on trust, not sales targets.

Outside of work

I’m married to Lorraine and proud dad to Leah and Ayden. Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and riding hard enduro motorcycles.

Hard enduro has taught me a lesson that also applies to financial planning: understand the risks, prepare properly, and don’t wait until something goes wrong before taking action.

If you’d like an honest conversation about protecting your family, your income or your business, I’d be happy to help.
